Hi Everyone,
We wanted to thank you for choosing Affordable Lawn Care for the 2019/2020 snowseason. We wanted to reach out to help remind you of the snow removal process and help to set expectations and timing. We get the same questions a lot and many phone calls from residents, and from you as property managers as your clients are calling you. We want to help to avoid phone calls from residents to you as property managers and have found that if you share the following information with all the residents of the communities, it helps to manage the expectations and understand what the community is paying for as part of the snow removal contract. In our experience once this has been shared, residents are less frustrated because they get to understand the process. We have found the more you and they know about the process, the better.

Here is how snow removal process works:• Snow contracts are a 2″ minimum. What this means, is that during a snowstorm, Affordable Lawn Care is not required to remove any snow or apply any deicing products until an average depth on the property reaches 2”. This depth will be measured from the concrete or asphalt. (too many residents view the depth on lawn or flower bed surfaces, which will accumulate more snow then concrete and asphalt) IF for whatever reason you would like the property serviced before the 2” minimum that the contract states, you must contact Evolution Property Manager so they can request service for the community if the minimum is not reached.

• Affordable Lawn Care has an 8 hour response time from the time the snow has accumulated the 2″ on your property, This means that from the time that the snow accumulates to a 2” depth, Affordable Lawn Care has 8 hours to arrive on your property and will work to arrive quicker if possible. Affordable Lawn Care will adjust routing order after each storm so response times will vary based on where your community is located in the route.

• There will be 2 separate crews that will be coming on your property: An asphalt crew & a handwork crew. These crews may show up at different times and may leave at different times, as asphalt is generally quicker than
handwork. Do not panic if you see a truck come and do the roads and leave without cleaning driveways or sidewalks, know that the hand work crew is coming. (or before depending on how they are routed).

• When snow accumulates more than 6″ in a storm, please understand that it takes us longer to push the snow, especially the handwork crews. Please be
patient. We may have our trucks come through the community and open up the roads and help to provide access in and out of the community, if they leave before the property is complete, they will be back to clean up towards the end ofthe storm. We will work diligently to make sure no driveways are blocked and
that all residents can get in and out of their homes.

• When it snows a lot and the storms are long lasting please remember the
workers most likely have been up all night clearing properties, they are doing their best, on big storms they never stop, they get tired, so if the storm is longer than 24 hrs. the crews may leave after completing the property one time, they need to rest for a few hours then will be back out to clear the property again.Again, please be patient.

• Some residents complain that our crews are loud at night, because of the equipment we use to clear the snow, there is some noise that is involved, our crews do their best to be as quiet as they can but ATV’s, UTV’s, snow removal machines and snow blowers do make noise, we can’t help this. It’s noise that residents will need to accept to have the property cleared by the morning if it snows at night. *If the noise is too much and Affordable Lawn Care crews are threatened with having the police called or asked to leave a property, calls will be made to the property manager and we will leave the property, if this happens the property will be placed at the last position on the route and be the last property cleared.

• The day following the storm, we will send crews back out on their route to make sure the property is clean and do touch up work. If an area was missed, we will get it cleared. We have found this to be helpful especially on big storms.

• If you have any questions or you do encounter a problem please contact Evolution Property Management

As always, snow is very unpredictable, and we watch the storms as best as we can and dispatch crews out as fast as we can. We are always doing our best to make sure properties are cleared in a timely manner. Again, we appreciate the patience and hope that with this information we can help to have understanding of most of the questions that will be asked.

Sincerely,
Affordable Lawn Care Team
